What is a Yamaha Music Point?
To be a Yamaha Music Point, BMS' teachers have to be auditioned and sent away to be trained to teach using specialised Yamaha teaching techniques. Contrary to popular belief you don't have to have any music or teaching qualifications to teach an instrument either in schools or privately. So our promise is that...
All Yamaha teachers:
- Must attain Grade 8 or above on their main instrument
- Have been trained extensively as Teachers not only as musicians
- Specialise in making learning fun and easy for beginners and children
using the tried and tested Yamaha Teaching Method
- Have a deep understanding of Music Theory and reading music.
- Must further their training each year by attending Yamaha training seminars
- Receive surprise lesson observations from trained instructors who travel the country to ensure high standards
About the lessons
Lessons are an hour long and take place at the same time and day, once a week, in small groups of 5 - 8 students. The lessons are always planned in advance to be fast paced, fun and set at the perfect level to fit each individuals needs. One to one lessons are also available when required.
You will learn real songs, how to read and write music and how to improvise. You'll learn to play with other musicians and have opportunities to perform in regular classroom concerts and once a year at our big Christmas concert. This takes place in a real theater in front of hundreds of people.
Not only do we teach you all styles of music, (from rock and pop through to reggae, Jazz and classical!) But you can gain real qualifications by doing so.
Each level of the course is fully accredited, meaning you can take graded Exams equivalent to GCSEs, right up to A levels and UCAS points for university, as you work your way through the books. We have seen students use this advantage to gain scholarships for private education and strengthen their university applications.
Our fully equipped studios mean you don't have to have an instrument to come and give it a try! Call us on: 0121 439 5488 to find out when our next free taster lessons are taking place!
